If everyone had two heads, there would be no need for stereophonic sound. A similar effect could be created by turning each head in a different direction. Although such a situation would be a boon to the hat industry and the barber trade, the recording industry is delighted that the majority of our population is mono-headed (an admittedly selfish viewpoint). After all, it has opened up a whole new field of technology: two-headed music for one-headed people. The selections on this album have been systematically chosen to best represent a cross-section of typical Freak-Rock Music.
Every aspect of rhe recording activity has been carefully supervised by GAM's elite corps of specially trained engineers and craftsmen using the very latest electronic equipment. The studios used have been designed and built to GAM's own exacting specifications, utilizing the group's own patented Phase 8 Processor™. A complex and forbidding-looking machine, this room-sized device permits sound from no less than seven thousand separate sources to be comblned and blended in precise perspective.
This of course is only part of the "Phase 8" story. In these recordings, the music has not been re-shaped or re-formed for the benefit of traditional stereo. Rather, stereo and stereocoustics have been molded to fit the music and only after the recordings have passed this critical test will GAM give their final approval for manufacture, secure in the knowledge that each Phase 8 disc wlll succeed in its intended goal - to fire men's imaginations, Challenge the Frontier and "dare" to push on to the very rim of the unknown...and beyond!
