"La Fée Verte" by Keith Kozel
Absinthe

Distilled from wormwood, among other herbs, absinthe is a dazzling green liquor that has been outlawed in the United States and other "civilized" countries due to political reasons that have little to due with fact.

So called "absinthism" - a term used to describe a condition in which the absinthe drinker, craving the emerald drink, slips into madness and a murderous rage - is a myth, according to the GAM, which frequently imbibes cases of the fluid, smuggled in from Czechoslavakia.

"It's not addictive at all," notes one band member, "Just very tasty."
